In her recent interview with W Magazine, Jennifer Garner admitted she loved appearing on Broadway in 2007, but she won't be doing it again anytime soon, in order to spend time with her family. “You can’t tell your kids, ‘I’m exhausted. Wake up with someone else today’. I live my life at these two extremes. I’m either a full-time stay-at-home mom or a full-time actress. I have this internal battle between, I need to work, I need to work, I need to work and I need to be home with my kids. And the kids win.”

Barefoot Contessa vs. Sydney Bristow!
Posted on 10:28 PM by clark
According to W Magazine, Ida Garten, better known as the "Barefoot Contessa" on the Food Network show, dissed Jennifer Garner's attempt to appear on her show. Garner is a fan and reached out to the host. "I tried to get on Ina's show... but eventually she just said, 'I'm sorry, I only use my real friends on the show.' I felt like, 'What are you saying? That we're not friends? I know everything about you!'" After watching her show, I think Garten is one of those New England elitists that look down on working moms like Garner (even though she is famous), so maybe she's better off not being on the show.

Happy Birthday to Vartan!
Posted on 3:45 PM by clark
It's Michael Vartan's birthday. Our favorite Frenchman turns 41 today. Ladies, please don't try stuffing yourselves into a cake and having yourself delivered to his house. Here's an interesting bit of Vartan birthday trivia: Michael shares his birthday with Steve Urkel (Jaleel White) and the Fresh Prince's Uncle Phil (James Avery).

J.J. to direct new spy drama pilot
Posted on 10:20 PM by clark
J.J. Abrams is getting behind the camera for TV again, for the first time since he directed an episode of "The Office" a few seasons back. He is directing the pilot for "Undercovers," a drama about two married spies, for NBC. Abrams also directed pilots for "Alias" and "Lost" as well as the HBO drama "Anatomy of Hope." This is the spy drama we had reported on earlier, which until now was unnamed. No air date has been announced.

The Sydney Doll That Never Was
Posted on 5:05 PM by clark
Chances are you've never seen this. This is a prototype for a 12 inch Sydney Bristow doll that was shown at Toy Fair in early 2003. The doll was never released due to poor sales of the 7 inch Alias figures they did release. Mirage soon folded and Stevenson eventually took over the Alias line. As far as we can tell, finding one of these prototypes is harder than finding a Rambaldi artifact. However, if anyone does have one, EMAIL US. You can click on the pictures to see larger versions.

J.J.'s "Trek" the Biggest Ever
Posted on 10:27 PM by clark
J.J.'s reboot of "Star Trek" has officially ended its theatrical run as the most successful film in the series. With a gross of $385 million worldwide, it surpassed the earnings of all other "Trek" movies, even when the numbers are adjusted for inflation. The movie hits DVD in November.

Another Spy Drama for J.J.
Posted on 8:33 PM by clark
NBC has won a bidding war among several networks for a pilot from J.J. Abrams' new projet: a drama about a husband and wife spy team. It will be titled "The Vaughns." OK, I'm kidding about the title. Even if it doesn't have the husband and wife spy team we were hoping for, I'll still give it a try. J.J. apparently wrote the pilot with Josh Reims. No word yet on production or an airdate.

Jennifer Garner at Invention of Lying Premiere
Posted on 11:04 PM by clark
Here's a pic of Jennifer Garner at the "Invention of Lying" premiere this week. It's been a busy week for Jen - she was on Leno naming the entire Red Sox starting lineup and on Ellen confessing she uses high heels in a workout to keep her legs in shape. She also said in an interview that she and Ben have discussed working together again, although she didn't mention Daredevil or Elektra.

Jennifer's New Poster
Posted on 8:28 PM by clark
Jennifer Garner is featured on the new one sheet poster for her new film "The Invention of Lying." The trailer for this movie looks really funny, even with the weird premise. We'll find out if Ricky Gervais' humor translates to American audiences who haven't seen his version of "The Office." Until then, you can always watch that episode from Season 3 he guest-starred in. To see a larger version of the poster, click the picture.

There is no word on what his character will be, but when asked if he would be another villain, his rep said "You never know." Great news for the Alias and Heroes alum.

That means the ever-loyal "Vartan-Hos" have another ten hours of Mikey-Boy to drool over. It also gives me another reason to post a pic of Michael Vartan for all you ladies. You're welcome.

Garber Is Sinestro!
Posted on 12:39 AM by clark
Victor Garber stars in the new Green Lantern animated movie as Sinestro, the dastardly villian. I have yet to see the cartoon, but I hear it is great fun. Christopher Meloni stars as Green Lantern, and the cast also includes Trisha Helfer (Battlestar Galactica), Michael Madsen (Kill Bill), and Olivia D'Abo (an Alias alum). Be aware: if you are buying this for your kiddos, it is rated PG-13 for violence.

The rare Syd and Vaughn action figure 2 pack!
Posted on 1:04 AM by clark
This rare item from Mirage Toys has been fairly hard to pick up, but we had the chance to score a few from a dealer, and we are making them available to you! The figures and package are in great condition, with only minor flaws. We can ship this priority mail anywhere in the U.S. for $30. I know that's pricey, but since we got these on the secondary market, we had to pay a premium for them. This is for U.S. fans only and payment must be made by PayPal. Email us if you'd like one!

Garber, a four-time Tony nominee, plays Hollywood matinee idol Garry Essendine, who gets mixed up with an odd cast of characters as he tries to leave London for a trip to Africa.

Rachel Nichols Now in Pocket Size!
Posted on 10:30 PM by clark
From all the looks of it, the new G.I. Joe movie is gonna stink, and that's my PG language. People in an early screening hated it, and they dropped the "Real American Hero" part, because they thought international movie-going audiences still hate America. The Joes wear no American flags, and their base of operations is in Belgium. These left wing Hollywood liberals sold out the red, white and blue for money. Even though I'm a Joe fan, I won't be going.
They did get 2 things right though: Ray Park as Snake Eyes and Rachel Nichols as Scarlett. Here is a pic of the new Scarlett figure, with some great artwork of Rachel. Enjoy!

Jennifer Garner Vs. Kevin Smith
Posted on 8:55 AM by clark
Director Kevin Smith and Ben Affleck have been friends for years, since Smith cast a young Ben in his 90's hit Mallrats. In a recent interview however, Smith says Jennifer didn't appreciate the good-natured ribbing he gave Affleck when he visited the set of Catch and Release, in which Smith co-starred with Garner.
According to Smith, "I was picking on Ben and making fun of him because I've known him for a really long time - I was talking smack - and Jennifer goes, 'You know, if you keep saying stuff about him, I'm going to kick your (behind).' And she could - I've seen Alias."

They join a large cast that includes Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, and Ashton Kutcher. The movie plot involves five different stories that all take place on Valentine's Day. No word yet on whether or not Jen and Brad will be on the screen together.

J.J. Abrams has confirmed that he will serve as a producer of Mission Impossible 4. Tom Cruise will again executive produce and star as Ethan Hunt. No word on who will direct or when production will begin. Abrams, of course, earned the director's chair for MI3 because Cruise was such a fan of Alias.

Anders Goes 'Into the Blue'
Posted on 2:44 PM by clark
David Anders is talking about his role in the movie "Into the Blue 2" with Laura Vandervoot (Smallville) out on DVD now. In a TV Guide interview LINKED HERE, he talks about playing a British villain again as well as his upcoming role in The Sci-Fi Channel's remake of "Children of the Corn."
Anders was also recently a guest star on the Fox series "Lie to Me."
Nichols and Grunberg in Star Trek!
Posted on 12:14 AM by clark
Yes, that is Rachel Nichols in the new Star Trek movie as an Orion slave girl/cadet. Perfect casting, don't you think? In case you missed it, Greg Grunberg also had a bit part in the new film: his voice was heard as Kirk's stepfather warning him to bring his car back after he takes it out on a joyride. Very cool. If you haven't seen the movie yet, you are missing J.J.'s best work yet, seriously.
